The second call for content submission focusing on “The Role of the Global Arbaein Gathering in the Development of the Humanities” has been officially announced.
This event aims to explain the civilizational, cultural, and scientific capacities of the Arbaein pilgrimage in rethinking, developing, and reforming the humanities. Researchers, university professors, students, cultural activists, and media professionals are invited to submit their works under the announced themes.
Every year during Arbaein , the spiritual attraction of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) draws more than 30 million pilgrims from over 40 countries, creating the largest annual human gathering in the world.
This extraordinary event possesses the potential to transform many of the foundations of the humanities and contribute significantly to their growth and advancement. Many of the existing principles of the humanities should be reviewed and rewritten in light of the premises, outcomes, and impacts of the Arbaein gathering.
Disciplines such as sociology, management, human resources, behavioral sciences, psychology, ethics, and law can all benefit from new perspectives inspired by this unique phenomenon.
The role of Islamic seminaries and universities in establishing academic chairs dedicated to theorizing on this subject is of great importance. Arbaein provides an exceptional opportunity for professors and students to study the nature and extent of the influence of this multi-million-person pilgrimage on existing intellectual frameworks and the foundations of various branches of the humanities.

The deadline for registration and submission is September 22, 2026 (corresponding to 31 Shahrivar 1405).
